2008 has been a more than decent year for me, and that's all I ask for. There have been a lot of milestones, though quite a few downs as well but I think I made quite a few important decisions that's gonna impact my life and that probably help tilt '08 more towards the good side. I'm not going to bore you or even myself by making a long recap, but I'll just briefly mention some, to remind myself that some things can be done, and exceeded. Well, some highlights include:

Deciding to kick sciences out of my life totally. I think that's one of the best thing of the year. At least I'm not studying in agony now. Deciding to take Lit as well has been a major challenge for me and that's of course because of the fact I have not touched Lit at all for 2 damn years. From straight U's to Bs, Cs and Ds. Improvements don't come any better than that. Also, quitting the school soccer team to continue in CO was a major decision as well, but HCCO has been brilliant for me so no qualms about that. And who can forget CIP for the NYEC '08. It's a full-day event but heck we stayed up the night before to watch an entire night of Euro 08. I counted I did not sleep for 2 days =) But it was real fun. As was history throughout this year, and in 08A12 I have some of the best classmates I can ever wish for. Og 23, I still remember you guys haha. Familial tensions were somewhat reduced (yayeth) and of course working at Popular was way cool. As was watching FERNANDO TORRES bulldoze his way through to score the goal that won Spain the Euro 08. But fuck it was against my Germany.

'08 blazed past at full speed and I still can't bring myself to believe it's already 2009. I mean like seriously it's like we had Orientation yesterday. But now it's here, and I think 2009 has to be a great year for me, whatever it takes. I just have to get it right. I mean, like look at all the shit that's coming up, Blocks in the March Holidays, SYF in May, then more Blocks, then concert, and then I'll have 6 months of intensive mugging sessions with Prelims and As. There's totally no room for error la. I think I should stop pressuring myself but WTF A's. I foresee the next 3 years will be the most boring period of my whole damned life so may these 3 years pass at top speed too! AND there should be less of the shit stuff I so often get too! Like major late-night scuffles and quarrels oh no one will understand this so I should shuddup.

No I'm not going to make any shit resolution (man I typed revolution on the first attempt) cos they all sound right with the word 'right' after it. So I'll take it as it comes BUT I seriously hope Liverpool will win the EPL and if they do I'm gonna study like shit for the second half of 2009 and I'm god damn serious. Ok set this shall be my one and only resolution for 2009 and yes. 'Right' indeed sounds out of place if you put it at the end of my resolution. =D

Actually I knew something would go wrong since like 8pm when SINGAPORE played Vietnam at their own backyard. There's definitely something wrong with your luck if your team creates 5 good chances and not force the keeper into a diving save. That's only for the first half mind you. Singapore played so well la but our frontmen were totally out-of-sorts. One of those days whereby you huff and puff and keep shooting but it somehow just wouldn't go in. Srsly we tried every single shit we could. Long shots, close range efforts, headers and even bicycle kicks. Alas none went in and Vietnam scored the only chance they had. It is damn disappointing.

Oh fuck Liverpool fucking drew at home against HULL CITY 2-2. There were a few positives though. We were down 2-0 but we made it back to 2-2 so I guess that's proof of our resilience. And the rest of the Big Four also drew which means we still top and no team managed to gain ground on us. Who else but that man Steven Gerrard to drag us back from hell single-handedly with two goals. All hail Captain Marvel!

I'm back from Malaysia!
This time it wasn't for fun or anything of that sort...

NABEHHH WHAT THE HELL LURHHH

1) Liverpool got a taste of their own medicine. FUCKING CONCEDE IN INJURY TIME AND LOST TO BOTTOM CLUB SPURS (joke of the century) after leading in the 3rd minute. THIS IS LIKE SO FUCKING ANNOYING. Thankfully I switched off after half-time but this seems to confirm my thesis that Liverpool only do well when I turn on the TV.

2) OH THIS IS WORSE MAN. MASSA FREAKING LOST THE F1 CHAMPIONSHIP BY ONE SOLITARY POINT. WHAT THE HELL. ok If Hamilton was in prime position all the way then i won't complain. Anyway he just needed a fifth place to win the title. BUT AFTER 69 LAPS my new hero SEBASTIEN VETTEL overtook him to get fifth and there was only 2 laps left for Hamilton to salvage something. Thereafter Hamilton just couldn't find the pace to catch up with Vettel and the gap drew wider. I WAS PUNCHING THE AIR THINKING THAT'S IT FOR HAMILTON UNTIL THE LAST TURN OF THE RACE. Just a few hundred metres from the finish line TIMO GLOCK SLOWED DOWN BY A LOT AND ALLOWED VETTEL AND LEWIS TO PASS HIM AND I WAS LIKE OMFG TELL ME THIS ISN'T HAPPENING. AGAIN, RIGHT AT THE DEATH! Hamilton's sorry ass was saved by Glock and this made me totally demoralised man. Suddenly everything I believed in this weekend came to nought.

Liverpool have been doing well currently so there's no reason for me to log in and rant. So until they screw up, you won't find me here too often. The best thing is for me not to turn up here until May 2009. MU fans will want otherwise. =D

My results really sucked bigtime (I know I said this at least a dozen times). And I think the school will not believe I actually tried to apply for H3 history with that kind of scoresheet. They'll probably laugh it off as some joker who has nothing better to do, but well, I'll live with the consolation that at least my tutors do support and recognise my efforts in History. =)

Resillience, determination, not giving up and creating chances for yourself. Ain't that what life is supposed to be about too?

Results in J1 actually sucked more than any other thing, so much so that looking at my Sec 4 report card made me feel I actually did well then. History fell way way short of expectations, Math could have been so much better and just too little was done for Econs (which I think i screwed up). But yeah, we will all bounce back won't we?

Really can't understand some of the criticism that has been coming in Jack Neo's way, especially for his newest movie Money Not Enough 2. Haven't been updating much about my life recently... so here's a real quick one.

Academically I think it's kinda getting better, or at least I hope so. I FINALLY scored an A in the Math lecture test, although still quite someway off what I want but it's closing in. AND I unbelievably, amazingly, incredibly, incredulously and EXTREMELY MIRACULOUSLY scored an A for GP and somehow topped the class. Damn funny lah. At first I thought my friend was trying to pull a fast one on me then when I opened my script I totally stun diao. But my real goal is to top the level for History, something which I think I will flunk this term cos I couldn't bloody finish. =( I FEELING DAMN STRESSED OUT. It's affecting my football and you know what my reaction recently has been goddamned LAG LAG LAG. NVM la AT LEAST I THINK I'm seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Let's just hope the light isn't the train. =(

Ok everything aside from academics have been quite shit so I won't bother telling you all. Actually what're yall reading this for ah. It's just super boring. School, soccer, school, soccer. YEP the History Term Paper that had been plaguing me before and during the holidays is back and I scored 38/50 =)) **Beams** Ok my block tests results suffered as a result of that one week dedicated to the paper but now I still think it's extremely worth it. History rocks socks man! This brings to mind one passage I've read while doing a Chinese assessment book. "钓鱼是为了钓而不是为了鱼". Totally true man. 最终，从过程中所得到的收获，毕竟会比从结果中得来的好处更多，更真实，更会充实心灵。

Oh yes that brings to mind, I've been doing my friend's Chinese homework for the past few days. =) I think I miss Chinese a lot and thankfully I don't think I've lost my touch for that language yet. I always find Chinese more expressive than English and it prolly suits me more. Prolly also 'cos I suck bigtime at angmoh language. Oh well I'm having fun doing them (during lectures hahaha) 'cos now it's like more challenging and abstract. If you ask me to sit down and do an essay in Chinese I'd happily do it. Just like if you ask me to write some history essay =))

I've been playing court for the past few days and though I think I'm quite lethargic at times but I thought I made some decent saves at full-stretch. HMMMM the past few days have been quite okay for me...
(the only downsides were the number of Us for blocks)

ok well we had an interesting Lit lesson (sia la Lit interesting for me seh) on Friday, whereby we cut out different ( and random) words from newspapers and formed a poem which made some sense. OF COURSE with Bjorn in my group we formed a sick one, and I'd upload the photos if I've the time OKAY?

and I got back one half of my SEA history block test and when I saw the grade I totally stunned diao la. 18.5. I was thinking it was out of 50 then I saw the comments by Mr Teh and to sum up he wanted to say it was GOOD (yeh GOOD =D) so it cudnt have been out of 50. Assuming what my friends said was right (that it was out of 25), this puts me on track to achieve my first ever A in JC life, and on track to get an A in a pool of Us for my BT. NOT BAD LEH YOU KNOW I WAS STUMPED OR NOT!?!

THEN on Saturday we had baking class for GEMS which was quite fun la. The tcher was imba shizz while we were imba NOOB shizz. Budden we were so noisy we probably disturbed the whole neighbourhood (including the funeral which was held at the void deck of the block)

NOW I'm off for CO qinggongyan to disturb SZUAN (haha u reading?).

Yay I have very nice people around me =))

Mr Quek was at my sabbat ytd and he was very encouraging of me and my bro's efforts =D He very funny and nice lah.

And thanks to Libo today man also another ultra nice person =)

Actually the sabbat was quite good. Although the theory part a bit sian like normal lesson liddat budden learn a lot of fun stuff and the hands-on part damn fun. We're supposed to come up with a little programme for radio (of course not to be broadcasted lah) and guess what we did an interview of Fernando Torres. OF COURSE its not him la I impersonated him and spoofed his interview and it was quite funny heh. Tell me if you wanna listen kayy =)

OMG I can't believe I'm rewatching 白色巨塔 all over again (on YOUTUBE). k la I think it's really a brilliant show and you should watch it if you didn't catch it last time.

OH YES and 杨培安 has a new album. A LIVE album actually and all the more we should support. All his previous hits have been re-sung and they have a very different feel =) And there are some renditions of classic hits by others singers. Annd I think his renditions are better =))

Now that I have the tracks of both YOGA林宥嘉 and JAM萧敬腾's first albums, let me do a quick comparison between the two efforts =)

神秘嘉宾(YOGA)
I think this album is very impressive! He shows he's quite an all-rounder, including songs of different genres ranging from pop, slow rock, ballads, R&B, upbeat tunes and even a power duet with a female singer. It certainly shows the different sides to this very versatile singer. His songs have a unique feel to them. I greatly recommend his first three hit singles which are released (in order of my preference):
3. 神秘嘉宾. On the whole a very touching song with a smooth tune. 每个人在生命中都会有一个神秘嘉宾的参与，留下的都是刻骨铭心的回忆。感谢有她，感谢有神秘嘉宾。
2. 伯乐. The very reason why I love this song is probably due to its lyrics.
"愛你的那一個　傷你的那一個
誰才是你愛情中的伯樂
放棄了這一個　然後等待著下一個
最後哪一個最讓你捨不得"
1. 传说. yep this is the duet I mentioned earlier. This is seriously a BEAUTIFULLLL song. Sweet lyrics and made all the more sweeter by the choice of female singer. i think they found the person with the right vocals to sing this. One of the perfect duets in my opinion and this should be a must sing in every visit to K-Box. =)

萧敬腾同名专辑(JAM)
This album brings out his strengths very well. Power vocals, coupled with a few songs that he composed on his own. He has the great voice that's really suited for rock tunes and love ballads. Well that's all the genres that are featured in this album and maybe many are left wanting more. Yet for those Jam fans like me, especially those who have supported him since the One Million Stars series, this should be more than enough.
3. 海芋恋. Cool song! He performed this on spop too! A more upbeat tune with a rocky feel to it. Quite refreshing stuff from Jam! Although it's quite funny to watch him just stand still while singing this live, but well you get the idea this this is generally a very cool song =)
2. 收藏. The fact that it was highly-anticipated probably played a part in making this seem very nice. A standard type of song that Jam would sing and he does it ever so well.
1. 原谅我. Also a standard type of song that Jam never disappoints in. Has an even more moody feel to this and I like emo songs more =))

Overall: I think Jam's album just about edges it. Maybe I'm biased or something. But his album is really nice. At least for the time being. Not to say that Yoga's is not nice. But I think there are more songs in Jam's album that are listenable in a sense that there are more 'k 歌', not just the released singles. As for Yoga's only 3 or 4 can count as listenable in my opinion but they're of top quality. I can picture those 3 or 4 being played frequently on radio and dominating charts, but not so much for Jam. I think Jam's album might get a bit too dry after time and it is also quite predictable too. It doesn't have special tracks of different genres, neither does it have standoutish tracks. Nevertheless they're 2 great efforts probably on the same level worth supporting and they're better than Aska Yang's album! Of course, Aska's nice too.

On another note, I think JAM 萧敬腾's album is really BRILLIANT. =)

Oh yeah and Germany played superbly against Portugal =D My World Cup 06 hero Schweinsteiger was again at the heart of all the good German moves. 1 goal 2 assists. BEAT THAT MAN. I think Germany can win Euro. Maybe Holland. Ok maybe Spain too. I'm feeling so much more confident to place bets again.
The only blemish: Mario Gomez and Klose. Klose looks like he doesn't want to score, while Gomez looks like he wants to score but he can't. Keep trying, Gomez. Wait no. That'd mean he'd start. Sheesh.
